How to Celebrate National Caregiver Day

How to Celebrate National Caregiver Day post thumbnail image

This post was made possible thanks to my friends at Voortman Bakery. I was provided the products to facilitate this review.

National Caregiver Day is observed annually on the third Friday in February. National Caregivers Day honors those men and women dedicated to providing health care services to those who require long-term or hospice care.

If you know a caregiver, take a moment on February 21st to thank them for the work that they do. Here are a few ways to make them feel special:

Ideas For National Caregivers Day

1. A Thank You Card

Letting a caregiver know that they are noticed for the work that they do is important. It can be hard work, and sometimes it’s nice to hear, “Thank you.” A handmade Thank you card will be great for this National Caregivers Day.

2. A Meaningful Gift

– An experience: a spa day, tickets to a show, or a restaurant gift card. Ask them or someone close to them what they might like, so that they will be more likely to use it!

– A thoughtful homemade gift: Putting a nice and sweet cookie basket will be the most heartwarming gift for them. This can be the easiest thing to do and the most appreciated for them.

Here is an easy idea to share some love:

Get some of your favorite cookies, in this case, I got some of the family’s favorite flavors from Voortman Bakery. Key Lime wafers, Rasberry, and Chocolate wafers, and put together a little assorted cookie basket to give away.

Or you can choose to use the also delicious Voortman Sugar-Free wafers. Super simple and easy on the wallet as well.

3. Gifts to Pamper The Caregiver

A day of caregiving deserves a moment for pampering. Soaking in the tub with these bath bombs may be the best ‘spa day’ gifts – especially for caregivers that can’t get-away.

Here are some additional caregiver gift basket ideas for home caregivers

  • Coffee Flavors & Coffee Creamers
  • Tea Leaves Sample Packs
  • Gourmet Popcorn Basket.
  • Candied Fruit Basket
  • Dried Fruit Baskets
  • Cereal Assortment Box
  • Botanical Soap Assortment Box
  • Organic Bath Bomb Set (individually wrapped, so it is easier to share)
  • Good Quality Hand Cream Set
