Your Local Guide to NYC’s Most Immersive Family Experience
If you’re looking for fun and memorable family attractions in Times Square, let me put RiseNY on your radar. We recently visited—and wow, this place completely surprised us! It’s interactive, educational, and packed with that classic NYC energy we love, all in one convenient Midtown location.
Whether you’re a local like me or planning your first visit to the city, this is a must-do experience the whole family will enjoy.
🎥 What Is RiseNY?
Located just steps from the hustle of Broadway, RiseNY is an immersive attraction that blends New York City history, pop culture, and a thrilling 4D flying ride over the skyline. It’s a perfect combo of museum, movie, and motion ride—and it all starts in a full-scale replica of the 1904 City Hall subway station.
The experience begins with a short film narrated by Jeff Goldblum that dives into NYC’s journey through the decades. It was genuinely fascinating—even my daughter stayed completely engaged!

🖼️ Explore NYC’s Iconic Culture
After the film, you walk through seven interactive galleries that showcase the industries and icons that made New York what it is today:
- Music, Broadway, Fashion, and Film
- Finance and the NYC Skyline
- Radio & TV through the decades
This part of RiseNY feels like a mini museum, with cool memorabilia and interactive spots that both kids and adults will appreciate. It’s perfect for families visiting Times Square who want something cultural, engaging, and fun—without spending hours in a traditional museum.
📸 Tip: Don’t forget to snap some photos—there are tons of Instagram-worthy spots here!

✈️ Fly Over New York City!
The final part of RiseNY is a total show-stopper: a 4D flight simulator ride over NYC! Think of it as Soarin’ at Disney, but tailored to the Big Apple.
We soared above the Statue of Liberty, Yankee Stadium, Central Park, the Empire State Building, and even experienced the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball Drop—with confetti and all!
The ride includes motion, scent, mist, and wind, making it a truly immersive way to see NYC like never before.
💬 I’ll never forget my daughter’s face—eyes wide, little hands gripping the handles, and halfway through the ride she shouted, “Mommy, this is soooo cool!” It was such a magical moment, and one of those rare times where learning and fun blend together perfectly.
Kids 40” and taller can ride, and this quickly became her favorite part of the whole experience. She even asked if we could go on it again right after.
