Life is short. It may feel like it takes forever sometimes, but the reality is that you live, and a short time later, you die. It happens so quickly, many people don’t even realize they had a life until it’s already over. If you don’t want to be one of those people who looks back on their life with regret, here are some things you need to skip over in 2023.
Luckily, we are headed into a new year and we can make a change, starting NOW. Here are a few things that you should skip over in 2023:
Saying “yes” to everything
The first thing that I am trying to prioritize this year is making sure that I stop saying “yes” to everything. There are so many different situations that you can apply this to.
If you feel like you are doing it all at work – going above and beyond – but not seeing anything in return (even a simple “thank you!” would go a long way), maybe let others take over some tasks, instead of doing it all yourself. The same thing goes for relationships: you are not in charge of setting up every single get-together, or time to talk.
If a friend is not making an effort to see you and spend time with you or talking to you, then you might want to re-think that friendship. It cannot be a one-way street, or else that relationship will more than likely fail because you cannot sustain it alone, forever. I highly recommend voicing your concerns, no matter what situation you are saying “no” to. You never know: maybe your friend doesn’t even realize that they aren’t meeting you in the middle. Or, maybe your boss doesn’t see that you are doing it all. Talk it out – and then start setting some boundaries for yourself. You could also take steps to remind people that you are there for them and can be trusted, such as getting some True Pheromones oil to add to your skin alongside your perfume to speak to peoples’ subconscious and strengthen or reinforce your relationship.
Forgetting about your skincare routine
I won’t lie, I have a hard time keeping up with my skincare routine some days. At the end of the day, I am tired, and all I want to do is crawl up in bed under warm blankets (especially in the winter!). But, this year, I am shooting for the stars and vowing to keep up with my skincare routine. I know that if I do, I’ll only benefit from it greatly in the long run, and 5-10 minutes at the end of my day is worth that. And seriously… 5-10 minutes is nothing, so I should be able to do this with ease (hopefully… I’ll just have to keep reminding myself this, ha!).
Doing the heavy lifting alone
I know this sounds weird, but stop doing the heavy lifting alone. If you are moving, hire help. As we get older (even if you are not old!) moving a washer and dryer or heavy furniture like a couch is not fun. Instead, just hire it out. It’s worth the investment – trust me! Companies like Bluebell Relocation Services, which are local movers in New Jersey, New York, and the surrounding area, can help with this since they offer full-service moving options and services like residential moving, commercial moving, furniture moving, and so much more. They have fantastic reviews, always aim to go above and beyond for their clients, and carry your furniture and fragile items with the utmost care and concern, treating them as if they were their own. No need to move yourself and do the heavy lifting alone, if you don’t have to!
Making excuses
One thing that I am DEFINITELY skipping over in 2023? Making excuses. If I decide not to work out, then that is on me. I choose not to.
This mindset applies to so many things. Are you in a toxic relationship?, then, you choose to be there (even though I know it’s so hard to leave). If you are miserable at work, you are choosing not to look for a new job. If you are in a city you hate, you have the choice to move…or stay. It’s up to you and you get to choose happiness each day. Are the things in your life serving you well? Are you happy? What can you change? Stop making excuses because at the end of the day, you are the only person who can create a life that you really enjoy. You have the power…now find a way to change things up and choose to be happy, instead of making up excuses of why you are stuck.
Doubting yourself
If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody will. Success starts in your mind, and if all you’re doing is putting yourself down and predicting failure, it’ll become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead of doubting yourself, think positively. Not only will you be happier and more successful, you’ll spread it to everyone around you.
Best thing I have read today, thank you!
