You know that feeling when you find a new kids’ show that’s not only fun but actually has a good message? Well, that just happened—twice!

This July, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. added two adorable new shows to their lineup that are already a hit in our home: Unicorn Academy™ and Vida the Vet™ from Spin Master Entertainment. Whether your child is all about sparkles and unicorns or obsessed with helping animals, these two shows are total winners.

Here’s everything you need to know—and why we’re already hooked.

🦄 Unicorn Academy™ – Our Sunday Morning Favorite!

When does Unicorn Academy air on Nickelodeon?
Unicorn Academy™ airs Sundays at 9 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon throughout July.

If your child loves fantasy, magic, and strong friendships, this show is it. It follows Sophia, a brave student at Unicorn Academy, where kids team up with unicorns to unlock powers and protect their magical island.

In our house, my daughter was immediately drawn in—“Mom, I need a unicorn like that!” she said before the episode even ended. I have to admit, I’m into the storyline too. It’s like a mix of Harry Potter meets My Little Pony, with a sprinkle of teenage drama.

What age group is Unicorn Academy best for?
I’d say it’s perfect for ages 6–12, especially tweens who love a little sparkle with their storytelling.

Unicorn Academy main characters standing proudly with their colorful unicorns inside a magical academy — new fantasy adventure series now on Nickelodeon.

🐾 Vida the Vet™ – Kind, Curious, and Completely Sweet

Where can I watch Vida the Vet?
Vida the Vet™ airs Monday through Thursday at 10 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nick Jr. all month long.

Vida is a 10-year-old who just moved to a peaceful little town, where she finally gets to live out her dream of becoming a veterinarian. And honestly? My son is obsessed. He’s suddenly asking to check the dog’s heartbeat with his toy stethoscope.

The show is adorable, but more than that—it’s full of heart. Vida shows kids what it means to help others and care deeply for animals, all while being brave and thoughtful.

Is Vida the Vet a good show for preschoolers?
Yes! It’s gentle, colorful, and has a clear message in every episode, making it great for preschoolers and early elementary ages alike.

💡 Why These Are the Best New Animated Shows for Kids Right Now

Are these shows educational?
They totally are! Unicorn Academy™ brings in themes of trust, teamwork, and personal growth. Vida the Vet™ focuses on empathy, kindness, and how to care for living things—all without feeling “preachy.”

We love shows that spark imagination and meaningful conversations, and both of these do exactly that. Win-win.

🗓️ Quick Show Schedule for Busy Parents (I Got You!)

I’ve already set our DVR for Sunday mornings, and Vida makes the perfect background while I’m prepping breakfast.

🎉 How We’re Making It a Fun Family Moment

You know me—I love turning everyday moments into memories. Last weekend, we had “Unicorn Sunday” with glitter pancakes and comfy PJs while watching Unicorn Academy™. This week? We’re planning an “animal rescue” scavenger hunt around the house inspired by Vida the Vet™.

Trust me, a little themed fun goes a long way in keeping the kids engaged (and screen time guilt-free!).

✨ From One Mom to Another

We’re loving both shows, and I think you and your kids will too. Whether your little one is dreaming of unicorns or ready to save every stuffed animal in sight, Unicorn Academy™ and Vida the Vet™ are sweet, meaningful, and just plain fun.

So grab your unicorn horns or plush puppy toys, and let’s make these summer mornings a little more magical. 💕

Will you be tuning in with your little ones? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear what they think!
