Since our last visit, the Dutch Wonderland Inn has received several noticeable improvements. From freshly painted guest rooms to a refreshed lobby and family-friendly amenities, there were quite a few changes that stood out.
Like any hotel, there were a few things that could still be improved, but overall we enjoyed our stay and appreciated being just minutes from one of our favorite family theme parks.

Why We Chose the Dutch Wonderland Inn
Whenever we visit Lancaster, location is one of the biggest factors when deciding where to stay.
After spending an entire day riding roller coasters, watching shows, and exploring Dutch Wonderland, the last thing we want is a long drive back to the hotel. Staying nearby makes family vacations so much easier.
That’s one of the biggest reasons we chose the Dutch Wonderland Inn. As the official hotel of Dutch Wonderland, it’s one of the closest places to stay and makes getting to and from the park incredibly convenient.
How close is the Dutch Wonderland Inn to Dutch Wonderland?
One of the best things about staying here is that the hotel is only a few minutes from the park entrance. Whether you’re heading to Dutch Wonderland first thing in the morning or returning after a full day of fun, the short drive makes the entire experience much more relaxing for families.
First Impressions of the Dutch Wonderland Inn
As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we noticed the updated branding.
The colorful exterior gives the hotel a fresher, more welcoming look than we remembered. Walking into the lobby, we immediately noticed the biggest transformation.
The space feels brighter, cleaner, and much more inviting than before. The beautiful fireplace, comfortable seating, and updated décor create a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect after a long day at the park.
The lobby isn’t heavily themed, but it still feels family-friendly and ties in nicely with the Dutch Wonderland experience.

Our Dutch Wonderland Inn Room After the Rebrand
One of the highlights of our stay was definitely our room.
It was easy to tell that the guest room had recently been refreshed. The walls looked freshly painted, everything felt clean, and the overall appearance felt much more modern than previous visits.
Our room included:
- King-size bed
- Built-in bunk beds
- Mini refrigerator
- Television
- Spacious bathroom
- Plenty of room for luggage
I especially liked the built-in bunk beds because they give kids their own little sleeping area while parents can still enjoy a comfortable king-size bed.
Although some of the furniture appeared to be from before the renovation, the fresh paint and updated finishes made the room feel much newer than expected.
Most importantly, the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable after spending the day at Dutch Wonderland.
Have the rooms at the Dutch Wonderland Inn been updated?
Based on our experience, yes. While I can’t speak for every room, ours clearly appeared to have been refreshed as part of the hotel’s rebrand. The freshly painted walls and overall appearance made a noticeable difference.
Family-Friendly Amenities at the Dutch Wonderland Inn
The Dutch Wonderland Inn offers several amenities that make it a great choice for families visiting Lancaster.
One of our favorite features was the pool area.
Guests have access to both indoor and outdoor pools, making it enjoyable no matter what time of year you’re visiting.

- Comfortable seating
- Plenty of space to relax
After spending all day inside Dutch Wonderland, this ended up being one of my favorite places to unwind before heading back to our room.

Breakfast at the Dutch Wonderland Inn Restaurant
This was honestly the only part of our stay that felt a little disappointing.
We decided to have breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant before heading to Dutch Wonderland.
While the food itself was good, service was much slower than we expected.
As we looked around the dining room, it became obvious that the restaurant was operating with a very limited staff. The employees were constantly helping guests, taking orders, and clearing tables without much downtime.
Rather than feeling frustrated with the staff, I actually felt bad for them.
They were working incredibly hard, remained friendly throughout the morning, and did everything they could to keep up with the busy breakfast rush. It simply seemed like there weren’t enough team members scheduled that morning.
Because of the longer wait times, I’d recommend allowing extra time if you’re planning to eat breakfast before heading to Dutch Wonderland.
Hopefully, as the hotel continues settling into its rebrand, additional staffing can help improve the breakfast experience because I think that’s the biggest opportunity for improvement.
Is breakfast available at the Dutch Wonderland Inn?
Yes. The hotel has an on-site restaurant serving breakfast. During our visit, the restaurant appeared to be short-staffed, which resulted in longer wait times. If you’re planning an early start at Dutch Wonderland, I’d suggest allowing yourself a little extra time.
Who Should Stay at the Dutch Wonderland Inn?
After our stay, I think the Dutch Wonderland Inn is a great fit for:

The recent updates really helped give the property a fresh new feel while keeping it family-friendly.
A Few Things That Could Be Even Better
Overall, we had a very positive stay, but I always like to share an honest perspective with my readers.
For us, the biggest opportunity for improvement would be the breakfast restaurant.
With a few additional staff members during the morning rush, I think the dining experience could become just as enjoyable as the rest of the hotel.
The employees worked incredibly hard during our visit, and I truly hope they’ll receive the support they need because they were doing the best they could under what looked like a very busy morning.
Is the Dutch Wonderland Inn Worth Booking?
After staying at the Dutch Wonderland Inn following its rebrand, I can honestly say that I would stay here again.
The refreshed guest rooms, updated lobby, family-friendly amenities, and unbeatable location made it a wonderful home base for our Lancaster adventure.
While breakfast service wasn’t perfect during our visit, it wasn’t enough to take away from the overall experience. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and hardworking, and my hope is that the restaurant receives additional support as the hotel continues moving forward.
If you’re looking for where to stay near Dutch Wonderland, I think the Dutch Wonderland Inn deserves a spot on your list. Being the official hotel of Dutch Wonderland means you’re only minutes from the park, making it easy to maximize your family vacation while enjoying comfortable accommodations at the end of the day.
