Summer break is finally here, and that means it’s time for some family fun. If you’re anything like us, you’re probably looking for the perfect destination to keep the kids entertained while sneaking in a much-needed break from work. Well, look no further because planning a trip to Hershey Park is the place to be!
This year, we decided to take the plunge and visit Hershey Park for the first time, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the moment we started planning a trip to Hershey Park, the excitement was off the charts. But, as with any trip, a little preparation goes a long way. So, I’ve put together this ultimate guide with 9 must-know tips that made our Hershey Park experience absolutely amazing.
Trust me, you’ll want to bookmark this for your trip!
1. Purchase Your Tickets Online
Avoid the long lines at the ticket booth by purchasing your tickets online. It can save you time and ensure you start your day at Hershey Park stress-free. Plus, online tickets sometimes come with special discounts!
We were provided with complimentary tickets to Hersheypark in exchange for my review. All opinions and experiences (and fun!) are 100% mine.
2. Plan Your Visit During a Weekday
If possible, visit Hershey Park on a weekday. We went on a Thursday, and although it was busy, the lines were shorter, and we got to enjoy most of the rides without long waits. Weekdays generally have fewer crowds compared to weekends.
3. Get the Hershey Park App
Download the Hershey Mobile App, available for iPhone and Android. The app lets you sort rides by height measurements, find the closest restrooms, and locate dining options. It’s a must-have for navigating the park efficiently. Plus, you can check live ride wait times and show schedules!
4. Purchase a Hersheypark Games Card
Maximize your fun with a Hersheypark Games Card. For $20, you can get a Games Card with no bonus cash, or go for the $25 Games Card and receive an extra $5 in bonus cash. This is perfect for setting a budget and making sure you have a blast without overspending.
5. Get Ready to Get Wet
Don’t forget to pack your bathing suit, sandals, towels, and water shoes for the little ones. The Boardwalk at Hersheypark® is an 11-acre water park with over 16 attractions, including the Breakers EdgeSM Water Coaster and WhitecapSM Racer. It’s the perfect place to cool off and have fun!
6. Get Your Kids’ Height Measured
As soon as you arrive, get your kids’ height measured at any official measurement station. They’ll receive a bracelet with their candy group, which indicates which rides they can go on. This makes it easier to plan your day and avoid disappointment at the ride entrances. Look for the signs at each ride entrance to see if your candy brand is eligible to ride!
7. Purchase a Souvenir Cup
For $22.99, you can enjoy unlimited refills of fountain drinks and Slush all day with the 2024 Souvenir Cup. Plus, get $1 refills on future visits. Each cup is scanned to validate your purchase, and you must wait at least 10 minutes between refills. It’s a great way to stay hydrated and save money throughout your visit.
8. Visit ZooAmerica
Entrance to ZooAmerica is included with your Hershey Park admission. Take a detour and enjoy the zoo, which is home to over 200 North American animals. It’s a wonderful way to break up the day and explore even more during your trip.
9. Visit Hershey’s Chocolate World
Before you leave, make sure to visit Hershey’s Chocolate World. The Hershey’s Chocolate Tour is fantastic for kids and completely free! It’s a sweet way to end your day at Hershey Park. Don’t miss out on the chance to create your own candy bar and stock up on your favorite Hershey treats.
