Dinosaurs After Dark, Super Stars of Science, and Scout Day are Back!

Fall is here there is plenty still to-do with the kids this season. If visiting NJ is on your plans be sure to stop at Field Station: Dinosaurs and join their dinosaur-sized 10th Anniversary with their special Autumn is Awesome activities to complement the already full schedule of live shows, games, and activities.

Super Stars of Science

(Sat., Sept. 17th) Paleontologist Katie Hunt from Elevation Science Institute will share discoveries from recent dinosaur digs in the American west.  Bring your dinosaur questions and find out what it takes to go on real fossil digs.  Included in the price of the Day Pass

Dinosaurs After Dark

(Oct. 1 – 29 on Friday and Saturday nights) A spooky, funny, and thrilling adventure for the whole family featuring a lantern-lit park tour!  But watch out! The trails are dark and there’s a hungry T-Rex lurking in the shadows.  A fearless Dinosaur Wrangler will lead a Tyrannosaurus Hunt along the Field Station’s darkened paths with a stop at every dinosaur and a few surprises along the way.  At the end of the night, everyone will gather around the campfire for a dinosaur sing-along, roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate!  Reservations online are encouraged; attendance is limited.  Tickets can be purchased at https://jerseydinos.com/.

Scout Day 

(Sat., Oct 8.)  Meet the experts in topics ranging from camping to lizards to paleontology.  Try out hands-on activities that are applicable to Brownie and Girl Scout Badges, Cub Scout belt loops and Boy Scout merit badges.  All scouts in uniform will earn a commemorative Field Station Patch. Scout groups of 20+ save when booking in advance at https://jerseydinos.com/groups/ or by emailing groups@fieldstationdinosaurs.com.  Free with day pass admission.

New Fall Hours 

(Through Sun., Nov. 13th): Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The park will also be open on Columbus Day, Mon., Oct. 10th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Teachers’ Convention Thurs. and Fri., Nov. 10th and 11th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Raptor Races

The Kentucky Derby meets Jurassic Park in a wacky, anything-goes race to the finish line. Kids can cheer on their favorite raptor or take the controls themselves to race against friends and family. Select times throughout the day, included in the price of a Day Pass.

Mesozoic Midway 

Forget the boardwalk, the Field Station’s classic midway games are fun, challenging, and free with admission.  Every player wins a prize. Select times throughout the day, included in the price of a Day Pass.
