Nickelodeon and Paramount+ are bringing us an all-new live-action movie—Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado—premiering Wednesday, July 2. And yes, Dora is back… but this time she’s 16 and ready to take on her biggest challenge yet!
🧭 Dora Grows Up: What’s This New Movie About?
In this exciting new chapter of the beloved franchise, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado follows our favorite explorer—now a teenager—as she ventures deep into the Amazon jungle. Played by the talented Samantha Lorraine, Dora embarks on a dangerous mission to uncover the lost treasure of Sol Dorado before it falls into the wrong hands.
Joining her on this wild ride are:
- Diego, her loyal cousin and jungle-exploring partner (played by Jacob Rodriguez)
- Naiya and Sonny, a fearless sibling duo
- Boots the monkey (voiced by the hilarious Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias!)
- And a personal hero of Dora’s, Camila the Crusader, played by Daniella Pineda
I love that this movie balances thrilling action with heartwarming moments—and did I mention the first-look images are gorgeous?
The Great Dora Fiesta: 25 Years of Adventure!
The premiere of Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado is just the beginning. Nickelodeon is launching The Great Dora Fiesta, a celebration of 25 years of exploration, learning, and joy.
Here’s what families can look forward to:
- A new CG-animated special called Dora & Diego: Rainforest Rescues
- The debut of Season 3 of DORA, packed with celebrity guest stars
- A new Magic Mermaid Adventures theater event

I personally love seeing how Dora continues to empower kids everywhere, especially through projects like the partnership with Plan International to support girls’ education globally.
