Embarking on our family adventure at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA, was an absolute blast, and I’m excited to spill the details of our fantastic day! Picture this: a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and thrilling adventures for both our little one and our teenage dynamo. Now, let me share with you 4 Insider Tips for a Family-Friendly Adventure that will ensure your visit to this incredible amusement park is nothing short of spectacular.
Capturing Memories Without Breaking the Bank
Our journey began with a stay at a conveniently located hotel just 10 minutes away from the park. The sunny weather set the perfect tone for our day. To keep the little one entertained, we started at Sesame Street Forest Of Fun. Daniela had a blast with the fun rides, Elmo’s photo booth, and ample water play areas.
Tip 1: Capture the Moments on a Budget
While the park’s official pictures are tempting, they come with a hefty price tag. Fear not; the park staff is more than happy to take photos for you. Don’t hesitate to ask them to snap a shot using your camera or phone.
Embrace the Splash: Wet Rides Await
Our journey continued to Italy, where we braved the wet adventures of Escape from Pompeii and Roman Rapids in Festa Italia. With warm weather on our side, getting wet was a refreshing part of the experience. If soggy clothes aren’t your style, pack extra T-shirts for a quick change. And for a good laugh, consider the Family Dryer option – though be warned, it felt a bit like being roasted like a chicken!
This post is made possible thanks to my friends at Busch Gardens. I acquired complimentary tickets to facilitate my overview, although this post is sponsored, all opinions are 100% mine.
Tip 2: Get Ready to Get Wet
Embrace the water rides, and if wet clothes are a bother, bring spare shirts. The Family Dryer is an option for those willing to pay for a speedy dry-off.
Weekday Wonders: Enjoying the Park at Your Own Pace
The joy continued with thrilling rides like Tempesto and a visit to Der AutoBahn for some bumper car fun. Here’s a crucial tip: plan your visit on a weekday. We chose a Wednesday and reveled in the luxury of shorter lines, allowing us to enjoy our favorite rides multiple times.
Tip 3: Choose Wisely – Visit on a Weekday
For an optimal experience, plan your visit during the week. We went on a Wednesday and relished the rides with minimal wait times.
Planning Pays Off: Save on Tickets and Enjoy Hassle-Free Entry
As our adventure neared its end, we couldn’t miss the newest ride, InvadR – New Wooden Coaster. To conclude our day, we hopped on the steam train, relishing the scenic views around the park.
Tip 4: Plan Ahead and Save
If Busch Gardens is on your summer agenda, purchase tickets online in advance. Not only does this save you money, but it also allows you to bundle parking tickets, streamlining your entrance experience.

We skipped Busch Gardens despite its many good reviews because my daughter was too big for the little kids stuff but none of like big thrill rides. we went to Water Country USA, next door, and that was a better fit for us. we had a great day there.

I love that this caters for the whole family too – very important for us as we have such varied ages. Glad you enjoyed and look forward to the next instalement. Thanks for joining us at #familyfun
Great post. looks like you all enjoyed your selves. I’ll have to add it to my family trips list.~ XO
Looks great. I went when i was a kid but the lines were terrible and I couldn’t go on any of the good rides. My daughter loves roller coasters so it’s on the list of places to return to. This time i can go on whatever I want! #familyfun
